Interprom has two ongoing projects for hydropower generation facilities in the cities of Mihalkovo and Domlyan. In Mihalkovo our goal is utilization of the hydropower potential of the Vacha River in the area between the Tsankov Kamak and Vacha Dam. The hydroelectric power plant will have built-in water quantity of 2,36 м3/sec and power of 7 kW.
This will amount to annual production of 16 million kWh. The Domlyan hydroelectric generation station has even bigger potential. It will be a two-stage hydroelectric power plant. Its built-in water quantity is 2.66 m3/sec and installed power of the generator of 700kW. These two are just part of the new direction we are taking in making our projects more ecologically centric. Not only it is a sustainable fuel source, hydropower has a number of other benefits, such as flood control, irrigation, and water supply.
